Hymn to the Inanimate

DECEMEBER 2020
A journey about inanimate objects, oranges and flowers are thrown into a liquid mist and enter a certain invisible realm. Water, this invisible and flowing medium, makes the still life that was originally stuck in one place curl up and stretch in its embrace. The light penetrates this liquid domain, and after repeated refraction and distortion, the orange color of the orange and the color of the flower alternate with each other. In this water, bubbles seep out from the surface of the object, and these inanimate existences begin to breathe in a certain way, and are the first cry of life.

Oranges and flowers float in this static and moving environment, no longer just representatives of still life, but begin their own short and blurred life. This is a self-exile of matter, a vague exploration of the boundary between life and inanimate, and a journey completed in a liquid dream.
